Dapoxetine is believed to work by blocking a hormone called serotonin, which regulates the activity of chemicals in the body that can be responsible for causing anxiety and depression.
Dapoxetine is also used to treat a range of other conditions affecting the balance of serotonin, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and Parkinson’s disease. Dapoxetine should not be taken by children or adolescents under the age of 18 as it can cause permanent muscle weakness and potentially affect the brain’s ability to release dopamine and other chemicals that help to improve focus and concentrate.
